Alexander Beznes, LCSW is a licensed, bilingual psychotherapist in NYC, with over a decade of experience working with adults, couples, and groups. He provides in-person therapy in the Flatiron neighborhood of Manhattan and remote sessions for clients in New York and New Jersey.
Alexander specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and interpersonal difficulties. In his work, he helps individuals seeking meaningful change in their lives, whether that means breaking self-defeating cycles, navigating challenging relationships, or gaining clarity about identity. Alex’s grounded, genuine style helps clients feel at ease and understood. His flexible approach allows him to respond to each client’s individual needs.
Who I Help
Many people who reach out are functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed internally. You might be living with anxiety or depression, carrying the effects of past trauma, struggling with addiction or compulsive behaviors, or finding yourself stuck in familiar relationship patterns.
Some clients come in feeling emotionally reactive or disconnected. Others feel burned out, numb, or unsure how to translate insight into real change.
Therapy is for anyone ready to explore change and growth, regardless of identity, background, or life circumstance.
Services
Individual therapy, couples counseling, EMDR, and process-oriented group work help clients build insight into patterns, resilience in daily life, and clarity in their relationships. In January 2026, I started an eight-week men’s process group that is currently ongoing. Interested participants are welcome to reach out to be considered for future cycles.
Creative Workshops
In addition to psychotherapy, I occasionally offer creative programs, including art and pottery workshops, developed with colleagues and community partners. These offerings create a supportive space for connection, learning, and self-expression and are available based on interest.
Background
Alexander’s education and clinical training are grounded in New York City institutions with strong community ties. Early experiences volunteering with local nonprofits and supporting underserved populations, from children with developmental delays to men in shelters, shaped his perspective and approach as a clinician.
