Alexander Beznes, LCSW is a licensed, bilingual psychotherapist in NYC with over a decade of experience. He works with adults, couples, and groups navigating identity, displacement, relational trauma, isolation, and the experience of not quite belonging anywhere. His approach is direct, creative, and built around the person in the room. He provides in-person therapy in the Flatiron neighborhood of Manhattan and remote sessions for clients in New York and New Jersey.
Alexander sees adults dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and relational difficulties. Sessions draw on psychodynamic, somatic, and experiential approaches, tailored to what each person brings through the door.
Who I Help
Many people who reach out are functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed internally. You might be living with anxiety or depression, carrying the effects of past trauma, struggling with addiction or compulsive behaviors, or finding yourself stuck in familiar relationship patterns.
Some clients come in feeling emotionally reactive or disconnected. Others feel burned out, numb, or unsure how to translate insight into real change.
Therapy is for anyone ready to do something about it, regardless of identity, background, or life circumstance.
Services
Individual therapy, couples counseling, EMDR, and group work form the core of the practice. The work is relational and embodied, attentive to the patterns organizing your life and the body’s role in holding them. The established men’s process group has room for one more member. A new group is forming in the fall with space for a small number of members. A waitlist is available for both.”
Creative Workshops
Beyond the therapy room, I work with community partners on creative and community-based initiatives, including an ongoing conversational English group for women in Ukraine developed through my involvement with PPSC. Additional workshops and programs are offered periodically.
Background
Alexander’s education and clinical training are grounded in New York City institutions with strong community ties. Early experiences volunteering with local nonprofits and supporting underserved populations, from children with developmental delays to men in shelters, shaped his perspective and approach as a clinician.
